Knowledge is flawed but truth prevails

February 19, 2013

What an insight!  I found this quote in a book I was reading called “Flight to Heaven.” And this quote stuck out at me, as being totally accurate because 2 Timothy 3:7 says: Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

We are living in the “information” generation. We can find anything out about anything on the internet, but is it all true? You decide…

But the only truth we can build upon is the Holy Bible.

I like this passage that says, “Let God be true and every man a liar.” That means we “could” be deceived by what we believe to be true…

It’s time we put all our own belief’s and traditions aside and go back to the basic Gospel. Line up your belief system with that, and you will find glorious fruit from it.

I was reminded of a movie called, “Multiplicity” where Michael Keaton was overwhelmed with his life, and needed help. He found a doctor who could clone him, multiplying himself so that he could be in two places at once. But, then the 2nd one decided to multiply himself, and then did it again one more time. The final products of these were flawed. One was timid and the next one was brain damaged. The more we build on the wrong knowledge, the more flawed it becomes.

When we build, we have to reset our building block every time on the Lord Jesus Christ. Not on another man’s work, not on what grandma said, not on what we did in the past, but on the Lord alone. Then the outcome will not be flawed, but perfect fruit.

So if we look at our lives, what isn’t working? Take a look and see how you built that part of your life and have a little talk with the Lord.

Making up your mind can open doors

February 19, 2013

Wow… this morning I was truly blown away and had to share this.

Yesterday I commented to my husband that I wanted to start singing again. I have been in bands and choir and did many solo things years and years ago. But my heart has wanted to sing again. I know that in music comes the soothing of one’s soul, and I need some soothing too. But more than that, to praise the Lord with my mouth is beyond anything.

I put my faith to work and bought a karaoke machine to start practicing on.

And today, this morning, I got a call from someone who wanted me to sing at their event.

I saw so clearly today that when we put our mind and faith to something, God opens doors!

Why am I Not Healed When I Ask?

February 18, 2013

Okay, let me share because this is truly the million dollar question. And I hope to encourage you and help you as it did when I got the answer JUST THIS WEEK!

I’ve been going through some very strange health issues, they have caused me to cut back on ministering while I go to the doctor and make some adjustments in my life. But the truth is, I don’t want to stop doing what I’m doing because of sickness. I remember years ago when I anxiety, panic attacks and phobias so bad I had put myself in a box to keep myself safe and protected. Since then, I have broken out of that box, only to find myself in another box.

So I asked the Lord today, with all sincerity. Why did new dis-ease come upon me and not being healed? And then this same question came up that Nicodemus asked in the Bible, “What must I do to be saved?” The answer to both questions is the same, “believe.” Believe in the one Who was sent. Believe He finished everything at the cross. Believe that by His stripes we were (past tense) healed. Believe on Jesus and thou shalt be saved.

As with a broken bone, we have to let that part of our body heal, but it doesn’t mean you give up all together, it means you do something else while you are being healed. Perhaps read some good books, make some calls, but not to focus on that one thing that needs healing.

As with me, I may not travel a lot right now, but that doens’t mean I can’t keep writing, talking to people on the phone, ministering through the website. We expand our lives by making lemons out of lemonade. Like Pollyanna said, “let’s play the glad game.” Where no matter what is going on, find something glad about it. This is how we expand our borders too. This helps us to get out of a rut in our thinking. God wants us not to get stagnant, that is why some of these things happen. To open other doors we never would have seen without that situation happening. He wants us to have an abundant life, full of wonder and surprise, but we won’t if we stay in our comfy little box.

This is what I learned today. According to this passage, it says I “was” healed. That means I am healed today. So let me ask this question. Those who received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, are we saved today? Not YET. We “believe” for salvation but it’s our faith that “hopes” for that salvation to become a reality at the end of our lives.

The Bible says, “Those who believe “shall” be saved.” and “Those who ENDURE to the end, shall be saved. This is the key to the kingdom of Heaven, but we are not in the Kingdom of Heaven yet. We have been given the keys to the kingdom, but haven’t entered that doorway yet. So don’t lose or drop your keys (smile). But we are misplacing our keys every time we doubt!!

While studying this out, the Lord showed me that when I doubt, I get to start over again! That is why many people have been stuck in the same thing for so long, because they are taking 40 years to make an 11 day trip! They are wondering around in the wilderness like the Israelites did. And those who “didn’t” believe didn’t get to go in! So that is what I’m saying here. Your doubting is preventing healing. When we proclaim that “By Jesus’ stripes we are healed” and we believe it… don’t stop believing! That’s what your faith is for. The minute you stop believing, you just dropped the ball, and you’ll need to start over again.

I was talking to my friend Lisa and we were having a great discussion and examples on this. One example was taking antibiotics. You are told to take them for 10 days, even if you start feeling better. Well, those who don’t heed it, but stop taking it because they feel better, are doing more damage. They get a relapse and have to start taking them all over again. And if they do that too many times, you begin to become immune to the remedy, keeping you sick. This is a great example of faith. We have to continue to the END in our faith, to see that thing we are praying for come to fruition.

When we received Christ, we have the Kingdom of God living in us because the Holy Spirit takes up residence in us. This is when we put God in charge of our lives and take ourselves off the throne of our lives. But we have not yet acquired salvation, not until we go home. That is why we need faith to live by. James 1:12 says, Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

We haven’t received the crown of life yet! But we are being prepared to receive it. We are being prepared to become the bride of Christ. This world is where we are being prepared for the World to come that is without end.

Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

This is a picture of how we are to live our lives, without fear of man, because this is a “fear of man” issue. To continue being and doing all God wants you to do and be not what we “think” man wants from us. This is truly  endurance, because no one wants to be hated by men. That is why we are in such a mess today. We have not been honest with ourselves or with others, and some with God. We say and do things so that “they” will like us and accept us. But what does this say? Endure in the Lord, regardless of the price and you SHALL make it passed the finished line.

Once we have confessed salvation, we are to live what we believe Jesus wants us to do. It doesn’t mean we are going to do it perfectly, far from it, but we have a desire to. And when we mess up, we confess it, and keep our hearts clean of all sin. And in the end… we SHALL be saved. It hasn’t happened-YET. Otherwise we wouldn’t need faith to live by.

Revelation 2:10 says Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Again, it’s talking about “men.” The enemy is going to throw all kinds of distractions your way to throw you off your game. Keep your eye on the ball, never lose sight of the ball. Don’t drop your keys or misplace them. Hold on… and in the end you will cross that finished line.

Okay, we aren’t talking about salvation here, but we really are. Because those who are saved has access to ALL the blessings and promises of God, including good health.

3 John 2 “Beloved I wished above things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.”

I have used this passage for years, but never really payed attention to the first part of this. John is saying he “wishes” that we would prosper. It doesn’t mean that we will. But we have a fighting chance now because of faith. Because the latter part says, “Be in health as your soul prospers.” So the degree our soul prospers is the degree of our health.

So… having said that, my soul will demonstrate this prosperity WHEN I don’t stop believing for healing or just give in. Now, at times, a person can believe for healing, yet does pass away. Well, they made it IN didn’t they. Even though they may not have seen their fruit on the earth, their faith continued, they held on, they didn’t lose their keys.

And so, here’s what I received today from the Lord.  Since I believe that Jesus is my Savior. That He is also my healer. That He took my sins and sicknesses with Him to the cross by saying, “It is Finished.” That means, He’s done everything that needs to be done. We “were” healed! So now our job is to believe it. Now, many of us are believing yet not seeing. Well, keep believing. As with salvation, we have to wait to the END to be saved. And it’s like that with healing. It will come while on this planet, but it’s going to take you “enduring to the end” of whatever that end is you are going through. I love this statement I heard once, “Everything is going to work out in the end, and if you are still going through it, then it’s not the end yet.” And scriptures say it this way, “Be not weary in well doing for in due season you will reap if you don’t faint.”

And I don’t believe that when we die that’s when we are healed because we won’t need faith any more when we die, because we won’t have a body to be healed. Let me say that again… We won’t need to believe for healing when we die, because we won’t have a body to be healed.

So this confirms to me that healing the body happens while we are here on earth. So many say this after a person has died, “Well, they are healed now.” No they aren’t, thy don’t need healing because their body has returned to the dirt.

So… here’s what I’m saying. Hold onto your britches, keep the faith, don’t lose heart in believing for healing or your salvation for that matter (Be sure to pick up my new book called, “How do I Know I am saved?) Do what you can do, but then believe God for the rest. For example, as a minister, I deal with the spiritual aspects in every area of a person’s life. I help people find the possible and roots spiritual blocks to healing. We have to investigate our heart, but then there is a time to do our part in taking care of this flesh, then a time to leave it with God. If you have exhausted every avenue as I have, now I am going to wait on the Lord for the completeness of my healing to come to pass.

Be consistent, don’t give up, continue doing what you know to do, see yourself a “picture of health, trust what Jesus did on the cross for your sickness, and live believing this. We have to choose stop looking at the symtpoms, sickness and disease. Take our minds off of ourself and put them on God. Vision God’s throne before you all day long not yours. Put a song in your heart. Sing to Him. The Bible tells us to put our affections above, not on the earth. And there was a reason for that, because we have to “do it on purpose.”

I know that I will come out on the other side. I believe in Jesus. My hope is in the Lord who made heaven and earth. Since He made me, He can surely fix me. My hope is in Him today. Where is your hope? (Don’t forget to read my previous blog on hope.)  Many settle for death… or say “This is my cross to bear.” We have to change the image of ourselves.

A side note:  (this is extra) It is said that we only use 10% of our brain. I know why now, because the other 90% is there for us to expand ourselves in the things of the Lord. It’s a bit of heaven. It’s where we can create and speak things into existence. I learned medically that when we think on true good things, we create new healthy branches in our brain that keeps us feeling good. But they have to be produced every day. That is why the Bible says that “His mercies are new every morning.” We need them every day. So imagine BIG… For your healing, for success, for whatever is in your heart that you desire that comes from the Lord.  And watch your borders expand!

So what do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see life or death? Change your image.

Release yourself from any bondage to your illness and situation. Trust that if you put your faith in God, He will see you through, in THIS lifetime! I believe that people don’t get healed in this lifetime is that the bodies were too weak to continue. And frankly, that is what the Bible says eventually happens to us.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Our bodies are decaying people, when you reach a certain age. But it doesn’t mean we have to go out with some disease. Not everyone is going to be pulled home in a whirlwind like Elisha was. And we won’t ascend to Heaven like Jesus did. The doorway is death… so not to fear it, nor the “dying process.”  So take this insight to heart and keep a picture in your mind of what you truly want to look like and BELIEVE  every day you have a symptom, each week, each month and each year!! Until it comes. Either you will be healed on this planet, or leave it behind… but it will come.

God wants us to have life HERE abundantly, not tormenting.. So what  we going to do is stay steadfast believing. That means, believe, believe believe…  do what you need to do, seek God first, but don’t get caught up in the “self-help” teachings. Don’t get caught up in looking at yourself all day long and all your sufferings. Focus on God, focus on what you WILL become instead. Put an empty picture frame on your nightstand and when you look at it, see yourself as God sees you…  what a concept! And be patient.

Faith is to help us during the waiting period… don’t lose your crown! (Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no mantake thy crown.) Or take your keys!

Conclusion

The Lord has brought me in full circle. I started out with my salvation because I believed what Jesus did on the cross for me. Then I wanted healing too. So I started the journey of finding out any spiritual roots and blocks. This was over 12 years of work, search, believing, receiving, teaching, well… my life! I found healing at that time, but for some reason, I still didn’t have complete healing in all areas. Things were still lingering. And I learned why… Once we do everything we know to do… forgive everyone, get rid of bitterness, receive God’s love personally, everything…. then we are to STAND! That means, now wait. Again, the waiting is what faith is for. It’s what I was just sharing with you by “don’t stop believing” you are healed. Don’t lose your keys to the Kingdom by giving up. You are to Stand… and stand as long as you need to until the fruit comes. Some of us are not standing… you are staying in that area of “digging.” Perhaps you need to stop digging, and stand… There is peace when you stand, because that is when faith is at work allowing God the freedom to do what He wants. Yes, we need to believe we are healed, but our bodies may take time to catch up!

Are we Hoping through Faith or Doubt?

February 16, 2013

This insight is hot off the press… just minutes ago before getting up for my day, I was thinking of what I was thinking of. See, last night I watched a TV preacher, I don’t go in for that much, but happened across it, and I found what he was saying quite encouraging. In order to have a better life and future, we need to see it that way. Scriptures show us this over and over, one example being Abraham. God told him to look up to the stars, and how many stars he sees, is how many promises. And then to look at the sand of the sea, and see how many granuales there are is how many will be in his family line after him. The Lord told Him to “see” some things BEFORE he got them.

For me, I was just seeing what I had and that was that. Hey, I have a nice life, and things are good, but I KNOW they can improve. I needed to start thinking about my house being paid off, or living closer to my children (they live 3000 miles away) or seeing me completely healed in every area of my body, or seeing the ministry grow to reach a lot more people, and so on. But I was thinking things like, “I’m too old to start up anything new.” “When I looked int he mirror all I saw was a tired old woman, and in fact I was seeing “death” looking back at me.” My thoughts were NOT on the amazing, but the declining. The bible is very clear, “Whatever you believe you will receive.” I wasn’t believing right. I was “hoping” in doubt and fear.

What I mean is that when I hope in what it is I want, it will not bring peace. Because we say things like, “I hope I get better, … but I probably won’t.”  or  “I hope the Lord heals that person, but they’ll probably die anyway.” or “I hope I can learn that… but I’ll probably fail.” Many of us have a “hope but.” I realized that all my hope in “things” or an “outcome” will have a but. The only Hope we are to have is the kind that comes from the Lord. The Bible says to “Hope thou in God” all other hope won’t due. There is a song called, “My hope is in You Lord” by Aaron Shust, the words go like this:

My hope is in your Lord,
all day long, I will not be shaken by trial or storm
the peace that passes understanding is my song
so I say, My hope is in your Lord

This song is ever so accurate. Because if I have hope I wouldn’t fear! But if I hope with a but, I have my faith in the wrong hope.

So in order to change this around, we have to start “seeing” with our eyes, and use the imagination God gave us to bring vision into our lives. See, hoping in God is what we need to have vision, with belief that what we are “seeing” may come to pass one day. I like what the preacher said, “Get a picture frame and whenever you look at that “empty” frame, imagine yourself the way you want to be… whole, healthy, married, etc. And every day, position yourself to seeing those things, with the prayer of faith to hope God brings it to pass. We are makers of our own destiny. Many aren’t having much, because they aren’t seeing much. I like what he said too, “If you are the wisest in your group, then you need wiser friends. A person who is jealous or compares themselves with others who are successful, has a small brain. Instead of being jealous, hang out with them!” We have to reposition ourselves, place ourselves in another environment than the one we have, and see more than what we have. This is not “name it and claim it” this is faith at work. The Bible is clear that we “reap what we sow” so let’s start sowing some good seeds about our own lives! Let’s start finding hope in God.

When I think of my sister who just died in December, I don’t see her on her death bed, I see her alive and well living at the foot of the cross in heaven. I see her happy and healthy. I’m not looking at the grave, I’m looking at the life. When we look at our past, we are looking at the grave! We have to purposefully look at the future. God even said in Jeremiah, “I have given you a future and a hope.” It ALL COMES FROM HIM… not from you. Our hope is flawes, but His is not.

Set your sights higher today, like I am going to do. I even made a list of everything I want to see different in my life, and a few extra “out of this world” stuff that would take an act of God to do it. The bible says, “My people perish for lack of vision.” Vision is seeing something that hasn’t happened yet. The Bible says to “speak those things that are not as though they are.” Let’s do the Bible, and enjoy the fruit of our faith.
