I had a Near Death Experience Today

March 29, 2013

To define NDE (Near Death Experiences), it’s people who have died and come back to life to tell of their experiences in hell or heaven. But, they in fact died… I didn’t die, but it was close, so I call that an actual NDE.

This was actually my second one in five years.

The first one was when I was in Hawaii, and I got caught up in a wave that pushed water down my throat and into my lungs. This time (still with water) I was outside and was about to drink a bottle of water that had a nozzle on it, and I accidently squeezed it in my mouth and it pushed the water into my lungs. I couldn’t cough or anything, I wasn’t able to get any air, and just kept trying to breath in. My husband saw me and ran out to help, and had me get on all fours as my body began to breath again. It was truly a miracle, because one minute I couldn’t breath and within a few minutes, I was breathing again. There was an after effect, as I did cause some trauma to my chest, it hurt for awhile, but not unbearable.
But, here’s the most amazing thing…  I wasn’t afraid (I had the same experience in Hawaii).  Both times, I had a complete peace, no fear at all. It just wasn’t a good feeling not being able to breath, but I wasn’t afraid.
What the Lord showed me and reminded me of from the last time, was that there is no fear in death. And he told me that when I am about to die, I will be given a peace that passes all understanding. Jesus took the sting of death away. In ministry, many tell me, “I’m not afraid to dye, just the dying process.” Well, I’m here to say there is no pain in that either… because if we are IN Pain, we aren’t dying yet! Peace comes right before we leave this earth, because Jesus paved the way and took the sting out of death.
Well, I just had to share this with you, and glad I am above ground still, though to be absent from the body is to be present with our dear sweet Lord… He still has things for me to do though…  And one thing is to share more about Jesus with my 5 grandchildren who live in Alaska. I am going to skype them on easter  and tell them the Easter Story.
It’s very interesting that in my reading time last night this was the passage that stuck out:  Deuteronomy 6:6-9And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

After I read this passage, I knew I needed to talk to my grandchildren more about Jesus. This NDE really put my focus back on what is important.  I also came across a video on YouTube of an atheist who died and went to Hell. And while he was there, something sprung up in his heart…  the song, “Jesus loves me this I know…” And he called out to Jesus. As he shared his story, he said that as a little boy he was taught this song. So, it only confirmed to me the need to share more of the Lord with my grandchildren, because it may be the difference between life and death when they grow up.

Do you have a zeal for God, but not sure why things aren’t happening for you?

March 23, 2013

I woke this morning with Romans 10 on my mind. I had a dream about it and so I decided to go there this morning.

I had been asking God, what do you want me to be doing? We all need to ask ourselves this from time to time, to be sure we are still on the right path of our calling. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to continue publishing other people’s books, which church to go to, questioning my ministry, etc. So I believe that is why God led me to this passage.

It says, ”

10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Well, I reread that over and over and saw the answer to my prayer. In many of those I minister to, one area seems to be there, doubting who they are in Christ, and some even doubt their own salvation, it’s because thought they have a zeal for God, they are trying to get things done in their own strength.

We need to understand God’s righteousness. Many have a zeal for God, want to minister, want to help others, but have NO KNOWLEDGE. What does the Bible say about God’s people who have no knowledge? They perish…  That is why it seems like nothing is happening for some, because you have no knowledge and are ignorant of God’s righteousness and spinning their wheels, and everything you “try” to do seems to perish. Many are out “trying” to do things thinking it will bring them closer to God, or that God will approve of them and love them more, but that is ignorance. It says we are out “trying” to establish our own righteousness. Trying to let people know about our abilities and talents. Trying to get others to believe we are the answer to their prayers. Trying to get others to approve of us. Trying to get others to agree with our ministry vision. Trying to be good! It gets into drivenness to be loved. But the fact is, when we are IN Christ, we ARE loved!! God is Love.

We are simply ignorant of the truth, we error. Matthew 22:29 says, “You do error not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.”

As I was thinking on this, I saw Jesus in the wilderness. So hungry and thirsty after 40 days. Can you imagine what you would feel like? Remember, Jesus was a man too, so experienced the things we would. So he was pretty much in a weakened state.. and guess who comes along to tempt him with food? Satan…  and what was Jesus’ response… “The Lord has said….” He fought Him with the Word, and Satan left…  AND THEN THE ANGELS CAME AND MINISTERED TO HIM. Many of our angels are waiting around to minister to you, but because you aren’t “speaking the Word” they are twiddling their thumbs. The Bible says that we all have ministering angels of those who are heirs to the kingdom. Let’s put them to work with our words. Let’s begin to understand what it means to submit to the righteousness of God. Let’s get to know our identity in Christ. So many say, “I don’t know who I am.” Well, that’s a good place to start! Let’s ask God to give us deeper understanding of His righteousness IN you.

Let today’s mercies be new for you! And choose today to seek out God’s righteousness and what that really means. Because faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God. If you’ll notice, there is a comma between “hearing”  and, “and” signifying a new thought. I always read this to say, “Faith comes by hearing the word of God.” and ignoring the “first” hearing. But it was brought to my attention recently, that the first “hearing” is critical! It’s listening to what others have to say… it’s hearing their testimonies. It’s seeing what God has done in their lives. It’s recalling what God has done in ours. And then… hearing the Word of God. So both of these are important to our faith.  And then, continue in His Word… both of these will bring us into the knowledge of righteousness, because we aren’t talking about what WE did, but what God did, or did through us.

It’s not by my might or strength that anything gets done, it’s by God’s might and strength THROUGH me. We have to submit ourselves to the righteousness of God, ALONE. He gets all the glory, He is the truth, He is the way; it’s His way alone. And it comes through faith, not of any works at all. It comes through believing the Word of God. The bible says that we overcome the devil by the Blood of the Lamb (Which I believe to not only be his sacrifice on the cross, but the Word of God) and the word of our testimony.

When we believe and walk this way, our faith will be demonstrated by our works. It’s not the other way around. If I believe I can lay hands on the sick, then that’s what I’ll go and do. If I believe I can cast out devils, then that’s what I’ll do. But if I say, I can’t hang glide, then I can’t hang glide.. What do you believe?

What are we talking about here? Are we sharing what God has done or what WE have done? Are some doubting their salvation? Perhaps you have a zeal but lost your way in all your efforts. Let’s get off that treadmill of “works” and go back to our first love. And that is to simply “receive” God’s love, without doing anything for it. Because when we try to DO something for it, that’s when we get into our OWN righteousness… then our works will follow.

What Was Paul’s Thorn?

March 21, 2013

Many have had their insights into this… but the Lord showed me in scripture exactly what it was! I’m so excited about this, because many use this to believe that God gave them a disease to teach them grace and mercy when He said, “My grace is sufficient for you.” So, people stay in their sickness believing this. However, what I found doesn’t say that at all, and I hope you are blessed by this finding as I was.

1 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Then I read this part:

20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: 21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

Fear is what His thorn is… and it comes from relationships. It says that “Satan Buffet him.” What is Satan’s main thing? Fear… that is his faith. Paul feared that people wouldn’t repent! He took on that burden. And we know that “fear” causes all kinds of sicknesses and infirmities.

I recall in the Bible where Barnabus was a good friend of his, but they parted ways, and in not so good terms either, never to see each other again!  This was actually about the time Paul got his thorn too!

Then when I read Numbers, it synched it up for me…

Numbers 33:55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

Have you heard the saying, “You are a pain in my neck?” This comment comes from having a relationship problem.

I believe, the bottom line to his pain was relationships. He was prideful because he wanted people to do what he wanted them to do. Yes, he represented God, but you know when you beat someone over the head or try to control them, this is pride. Paul had lots of it, I see, cause of the fall-out of his friend Barnabus, who didn’t conform with what he wanted from him. And now you see he’s in fear for people’s lives.

That is a good thing to be concerned, but not to take it upon ourselves to carry. Jesus’ shoulders is plenty! Our job is to teach the truth and let them sort things out… Many of us are sick today because we have been trying to get others to do what WE think is best.

Do you have a thorn in your side? Do you have stomach problems? Are you in pain any where? Where are you in fear about? When we are in fear, we aren’t trusting God. When we are in fear, we are trying to do things our way. When we are in fear, it will open us up to all kinds of sickness and problems.

The antidote is: repent and forgive and trust God. Because in the end the Bible says that Paul was delivered from ALL his stuff!! He must have got his heart right with God… Because Paul wrote this letter to Timothy…

2 Timothy 3:10-11

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering (sickness and illness), charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

It’s interesting that he didn’t say, “God healed my side.” He said, he was delivered from persecutions when he endured! Again, this was his thorn… relationships with people.

In the End, the Lord delivered him…  So what are we going to do today… trust God or keep on with what isn’t working? Trusting God means we believe what He says… love one another and forgive one another. Stop complaining and grumbling about your situation, trust God with it. Repent, and forgive everyone, including yourself. Let people make their own decisions otherwise they will bring you down with them. Stay true to your heart and convictions, because you are the only one you can do anything about. The rest is God’s. And I found that when we release people to make their own choices, our lives are much happier, and those around us are much happier too. Because when we release our grip, God really can work.

Which Hand Will We Use?

March 21, 2013

The other day I was talking to my husband about a situation that was troubling. Someone I know has been making some choices that I don’t really like. I told Tom, “On one hand, I understand why he’s doing that… but on the other hand, it really makes me angry.” Then I heard the Lord say, “Then only dwell on “the one hand” not the other…  That made total sense to me… Because dwelling “on the other hand” will cause me to fall into anger, fear, doubt, grumbling, complaining, and no peace. Wow… so easy to do, now that I know this.

The “other hand” is when I want to fix it, do something that frankly, is God’s job. When we stay “on the one hand” we will respond better to that person’s needs. We will make better choices concerning them, and we won’t complain or murmur about them. (Be sure to read the blog on complaining or listen to the teleconference session on my website). I choose to remain in peace, that is where my health will be, that is where my mind will stay clear, that is where God is.

Because if we remain “on the other hand” we will live in fear, anger, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness, deception, and more!!  What will your choice be?

I hope this helps you as well when you use that phrase:  “On one hand… and then on the other hand.”

Can Complaining Make Us Stuck? (Added an UPDATE at the end – 3-19-13)

March 17, 2013

On the last teleconference session (We hold every Wed night… for more details go to, we talked about complaining. In the book of Numbers Chapters 11 -16 there is a clear picture of what happened to the Israelites when they murmured and complained against, Moses, Aaron and even God. The outcome wasn’t good. But what I discovered is that those same outcomes are prevalent today! Many are STUCK in their stuff and don’t know how to get out. I hope this blog proves helpful!

When we complain, we are lacking trust. We don’t trust the government, we don’t trust the fuel companies, we don’t trust the boss, we don’t  trust people, period! So we gossip and complain about them.  Complaining will cause us to remain in the very thing we are complaining about! It can cause us to get sick because of the pressures of it all.

As we read in Numbers 11:1 it said that “When the people complained it displeased the Lord…” Why did they complain? Because they didn’t “believe” Him.

Numbers 14:11 And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

Even though He displayed miracle after miracle, they just couldn’t believe. That is the same for us today… If you look back on your life, you will see God’s hand in so many things, yet today, we still have a hard time believing for what we need today and tomorrow. This will cause us to complain and murmur. How many times does he have to prove Himself to us before we believe Him… 10 times?

Numbers 14:22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

Being obedient to God’s voice is simply believing Him, and what He has said. If we truly believed Him, we wouldn’t complain, becuase we would know He is going to take care of everything, even the neighbor! One day, Tom and I was so fed-up with the neighbor, he was doing some very bizarre things which caused us discomfort. But… when Tom went to God on it, all he heard was “wait… I’ll take care of it.” Tom asked, “how will You take care of it? What can You do?” But the answer was the same… “wait… I’ll take care of it.” So we patiently endured. Then, a few weeks later something happened. The man lost his house to foreclosure. Now, that’s nothing we could have ever dreamed of happening, and didn’t wish that on anyone, but that was what God allowed to move him out. We were very grateful, and then thought we should buy the property, if at least to keep it unoccupied so we can have peace. But… that wasn’t God’s plan either… and to make a LONG story short, the family who ended up buying the house is a young family, but… they bought it as a vacation home! They are NEVER there! It’s peaceful around here. And because we like them a lot, when they do come, it’s a pleasure. God did FAR greater than we could have ever dreamed!!!! Because we CHOSE to trust Him!

We need to confess your lack of trust in God, because complaining can only come from a lack of trust. The middle man like  the government, boss, neighbor, etc., will be overridden when we completely trust GOD with these middle men! Some of you are married to someone whom you complain about… trust that person with God!

When we come to a place of saying, “Father, I believe and trust You in and for all things” with a true heart conviction, repenting for any doubt previously, any sins of grumbling and complaining, getting clean before the Lord… and ask Him to help you trust Him more…  that’s when we’ll stop complaining! Complaining can come from pride, but pride comes also from not believing God! Because the Bible says that He is to be glorified NOT us…  and pride means we glorify us. So even in pride, we are not “trusting” His Word.

So let’s see what happened to the Israelites: Complaining caused the Israelites to die in the wilderness! They simply didn’t believe Moses, Aaron and even God. They kept wanting to run back to bondage because it was familiar… and they were more concerned about what they ate than the freedom they could have. Their belly was their god! As a matter of fact, they fell into lust! When we don’t get something we think we need, we will lust after it, and if we don’t get it, we’ll complain. Just as the Israelites did when they said to Moses… we’re hungry!!!!!!!

Numbers 11:4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

Numbers 11:33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague.

Why were they killed? Because of their lust towards the need for food! This was so clear about addictions. Lust comes before we can get addicted to it! And it starts with a complaint! Something isn’t right in my life and I need to tell some one about it!

I was just reading this morning in Numbers chapter that when we speak words that are evil (untrusting in nature) those same words will come upon us! We have to guard our heart, because out of it flows the issues of life. What is coming out of our mouth reflects what is in our heart. And I know that if I truly trusted God, I wouldn’t murmur and complain about ANYTHING!

Personal experience was that when I realized that everything I say and do has an element of complaining in it, I was shocked! I repented, and found release and freedom almost immediately. Because the next day I told my husband, “Tom, I trust you… I trust your decisions, I trust the way you do and don’t do things, I trust your judgment, I trust You!” Something I don’t think I ever truly said out loud!! Because when we trust someone, we won’t complain!

My husband has a work area that I think is SOOO messy.. and it bothers me every time I look at it. But this day, oh my, it was gone! I didn’t see that mess any more, because I am choosing to trust my husband’s judgment! That whole issue was gone out from me! Anyway, who was I trying to please? I was trying to please visitors! Fear of man was all over that. But when I decided to “trust Tom” completely, my peace came. Again, I trust Tom WITH God… and that’s when things really change.

During the times of me telling Tom what to do, he would respond by saying,  “The World as Linda knows it.” He has said that for YEARS…  and  only now do I truly understand what he was saying…  Wow…

I’m free and he is free! And now I’m looking at my other relationships too to see if there needs some healing and restoring there.

But… I encourage you to read Numbers 11 – 16 yourself… and find hidden treasures in there for you. Look for my new book on this topic as well, should be out soon. You can listen to a 40 minute teaching on this at

Since I wrote this blog, things have been changing for me dramatically… and for the good! The Lord has opened my eyes to some truths that is well worth mentioning here. One area is that I began to listen to myself talk.. and this is what I discovered: 1) Most of the things I have been saying is talking ABOUT someone. What they are doing, what they should do differently, etc. This is COMPLAINING! This is speaking EVIL. 2) Complaining can also lead to witchcraft – controlling nature. We complain when things aren’t done our way, we complain to “control and manipulate” another to get what we want.

I encourage you to listen to your own words that fall out of your mouth. Are the edifying, of a good report, encouraging and uplifting, or do they gossip, tear down, or belittle? You’ll be surprised when you truly stop and listen and not make excuses for what you say. Yes, there is a time to be honest, but are we being honest with THAT person or telling others ABOUT that person? There is a difference. I remember Tom telling me one day, “Whatever you say if it’s about a person, don’t say it, say it TO that person, then it’s not gossip!”

As the days have gone on from what the Holy Spirit was showing me, I have had more peace than I could have ever imagined. Now when I talk to difficult people, I have patience! I’m not upset about anything… because I TRUST and BELIEVE GOD in ALL THINGS.

We recently had to replace our refrigerator, it wasn’t getting the food cold. When my husband discovered the refrigerator was not cold, we simply said, “Okay, let’s clean it out and get ready for a new one.” There was not grumbling, complaining, how are we going to pay for it, we PASSED the test!!!  Well, that evening I went in to that fridge to look at it or something, and it was COLD! The Lord met us!! We didn’t complain, we didn’t get upset, we just rolled with it doing what we needed to do for a new fridge. And lo and behold.. God fixed the one we had! We saved thousands of dollars! (Side Note: Sometimes we wonder why God isn’t giving us money when we tithe… perhaps it comes back like this? Not having to SPEND money to fix something! That is a savings!!)

Can Relationships or No Relationships make us sick?

March 13, 2013

Have you heard someone say, “You make me sick!” Hmmm… then it’s a fact that people can make us sick. But the truth is, no one can make you sick, it’s what you do with what they “dish out” that can make you or break you.

My nephew put out a broadcast on Facebook the other day saying, “Why do bad things happen to good people, and don’t tell me God is teaching them something.” I responded… God rains on the just and on the unjust, it’s what we do with it that makes the difference of the outcome.”

People can make us sick if we let them make us sick! No one can make you drink! No one can make you smoke. I remember years ago I married my x-husband who was a drinker. When he got into a life-threatening accident because of his drinking, his family blamed me! Like I put the drink to his mouth and forced it down his throat, then gave him the keys to drive…  People want to blame others for things they don’t understand or want to know.

We have many relationships… and frankly, many would rather not. That way they can stay in peace and not have to “deal” with other people’s stuff. But.. this can also make someone sick, because now they are lonely and not experiencing love and friendship. Relationships are critical for our lives. So we can’t live with people, and we can’t live without them… so what do we do?

Forgive, forgive forgive. I believe that is why Jesus talked about it so much. When we forgive the person who is staring us down… their defilement won’t get on us. John 20:23 says, “Whosoever sins you retain they are retained, whosoever sins are remissed, they are remissed.” In other words, when you forgive, you are remissing them, and they are returning to the sender! But if you don’t forgive, you “get” them! And now you are defiled too. Then whatever you touch will get defiled, and on and on. No wonder we are in such a world of hurt in relationships… everyone has some kind of defilement hanging on them.

We need to start over today. The Bible says, “His mercies are NEW every morning.” What we did yesterday may not work for today, as God is always recalculating us, and sending us onward. He is a “forward” God… So, if you feel like you are being tossed around by relationships in your life, stop and pray this prayer:

“Dear Heavenly Father: I am not at peace. There are too many voices coming at me, and too many that aren’t good. I want to stay in relationships, but it’s very hard when I feel controlled and manipulated, unloved, rejected, and hurt. But you gave us a plan.. a way to combat these issues, because we aren’t fighting with people, but wrestling with the spiritual..  So I ask you to remove ALL defilement that I have retained from every relationship in my life. And I ask you to help me identify each and every one and forgive every person who was used by the enemy to perpetrate defilement upon me. I ask for a clean slate today, holy and pure, unblameable, and righteous in your sight. Cleanse me and purge me and purify my heart and soul. Father, help me to repent and get rid of anything in my life I am holding onto… I want to be clean today. Release me from any relationships that are hazardous to my health, and help me to keep those that give life. Let me be wise in choosing friendships Lord, but not to fear them either, because your plan of forgiveness can do miracles. Thank you for teaching me this truth, and healing my heart. Restore me to you Father, as I seek to know more of You. In Jesus name, Amen.”

We need each other people… we just have to stop rolling our eyes, and getting frustrated, and start loving and forgiving…

Are you a Flag or a Sail?

March 5, 2013

Recently heard this in a message…  and this statement stood out. I had to do some thinking of my own life…  Am I a flag or a sail?

What is a flag? A flag flaps in the breeze, in all it’s OWN glory! Tethered to a pole, not going anywhere.

A Sail? Causes a ship to sail, and blown ever so gently towards a destination. It doesn’t seek it’s OWN glory, but the glory of the one at the helm.

This life and everything we do is truly about Him and Him alone, and He wont’ share His glory. Some of us are suffering in all kinds of areas today, because we strive to be heard, accepted, and glorified. (Let’s be honest). If you say, “Oh, that’s not me.” Then… I’d think again. It’s the truth that makes us free, and if I can admit it, so can you. Our goal is to live this life sanctified by the Word. Numbers 6 talks about Moses cleaning the instruments used in the offering ceremony. Well, we are instruments, how polished are you? How clean are you? I asked myself this question this morning… which all gets down to… who am I trying to please? And who gets the glory?

From this, a poem was birthed this morning. I hope it blesses you and causes you to choose to be a sail and not a flag any longer (if that is you of course.)

Am I a flag or a sail?
Do I wave my own accomplishments?
Do I seek for fame and glory?
Or do I let go of my own ambitions
To tell another story?
I want to be a sail
Where your wind blows me on
I never want to lead
but follow you in song
I want to be a sail, going places in your name
Not to be tethered to a pole
Seeking fortune and fame
My heart desires you
to be my every move
So that I cannot boast
because in you my strength is true
We are made to worship
but let my worship be of You
Not what I can gain from others,
or anything I do
I am no longer a flag, teathered to a pole
But I’m a sail… and you are blowing me home.
Let’s get back to the gospel and the real reason we are here in the first place. (I’m speaking to myself too!)
