Loss is not always bad, it also opens us up to gain…

August 30, 2013

As I think of the title of this post… I recall a scripture that says, “I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,” (Philippians 3:8).

During the past month, I have heard of people losing loved ones, losing a relationship, losing a child, and a husband. Loss is a terrible thing. Any kind of loss. Even the loss of a job. It may seem like the worst thing that can happen to you right at that moment. But… there is an upside. The only reason we fall to pieces at loss is that we don’t know God’s plan! We have to get to the place that whatever goes on in our life, we will say, “I trust God and in the end it will work out perfectly no matter what.” Yes, we can feel the painful loss, yes we can grieve, yes we can think dearly of those things that were lost, but we also have to one day emerge out and live again.

A friend of mine’s husband passed this week unexpectedly and very young. He was gone! It was a shock! But all through it, we both prayed for understanding. When she asked a sincere “Why?” God told her. She found peace in his response (which is of a private nature). And was able to understand God’s plan for her and her husband’s life. Not only did she find peace, but her husband left her a legacy. God had given her to him for a reason. God had given him to her for a reason too. They were only married 8 months! But she kept believing God as much as any one possible… and He came through for her. Gave her clarity, strengthened her, and has been helping her go forward. She is not going to be “stuck” at this time in her life. She saw the greater plan and now has a hope that only can come from God. She was very fortunate in that regard, to know the reason. Many who lose loved ones never find the reason, and that is a hard position to be in. But regardless… when we truly trust God IN these things, He will bring us OUT of these things.

Just as the passage said, all these things I count all my loss as nothing, because even in my loss Jesus is Lord. He knows what my loss was. He knows how to meet my needs. He knows what I need to be comforted. He knows what needs to be replaced. When we think like this, our loss MAY become gain in the end. Because no matter what life brings us, when we realize Jesus Christ is the most important thing and when we “know” Him personally, that is truly GAIN, because with that much more can be given to us. Our hearts will be healed fully and quickly. Provision will be given through miraculous situations. Love will be restored, and more…  So when we are in the middle of loss, and it will happen to each and every one of us eventually, see the GAIN in it… Jesus is with you, and when God is on your side, what else do you need?  We may never know the why, but we can trust the Lord who does.

It’s like a tree.. it may bear a lot of good fruit, but it will only bear greater fruit when it’s cut back even more! The loss of limbs and branches only brings GAIN….

Positioning From the Lord

August 19, 2013

This morning I woke up thinking about something that I have been involved with. I began thinking, “This really isn’t what I thought it was going to be like.” or we may think, ‘What’s the point in all this?” But I knew without a doubt that the Lord was leading me in this and to stick with it, yet it was becoming a little difficult. I love it when we have these chats, because that’s when He opens the Word and gives me clarity in that particular issue, and this is what happened (again) this morning.

I’m reading through the Old Testament, and I’m still in 1 Samuel. It’s so amazing that every time I have a request, a prayer need, a thought, that very scripture that I’m reading for that morning addresses it. Now, that can only be God’s divine appointment, don’t you think? Anyway, let me share with you something that I think may help you in your situation. Many of you have been doing something every day that you may not like doing, but you know God wants you to. This passage will help you stay the course and complete what God set out to do through you. How God POSITIONS us for greater blessings, by being faithful to what He has called us to no matter how small it is.

1 Samuel 17:13-28. You can read the whole passage for yourself, but let me paraphrase it for you. David was tending the sheep when the Philistines were coming against Saul and His army of Israelites. 3 of David’s older brothers was with Saul, watching everything going on. Goliath, the giant, called out to Saul and asked for someone to fight him. And said, “If I win then you serve me, if you win then we will serve you.” Everyone was afraid… Goliath was over 10 feet tall and huge and strong. Okay, so here’s David, he’s in the field when his father Jesse came to him and said, “David, I want you to take some food to your brothers.” Vs. 20 said, “And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper (He took responsibility first of all, and made sure his sheep were properly taken care of before leaving) and went, as Jesse had COMMANDED him,; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth tot he fight, and shouted for the battle.”

Let’s imagine what is happening for a moment. David comes upon this situation and is looking around at all the armies against each other. He gives the food to his brothers, and heard how the Philistine Giant defied God’s army. Now we all know the rest of the story, how David fought the giant and slew him with a sling and a stone. BUT…. what I want to get at is that God positioned David to be there in the first place!!!  He used the STEPPING STONE or PATHWAY to greater things by having David serve his brothers! He did a menial task of taking them food. And that one step put him into the position for God to use him to slay the giant.

So, I ask you, what menial task are you doing right now that seems insignificant? Are you thinking… “How can this possibly help me achieve what I want in life?” Those menial tasks are more than likely the PATHWAY to greater things! Your desires to be fulfilled. New opportunities. Much can be opened up to us, but there is only ONE pathway at times to that greater thing. And David had to OBEY his father and take the food to his brother. What is God asking you to do?

Well, I took this to heart too, cause I was growing weary in what I was doing and being involved in. I didn’t see it going any where, and really, what has this have to do with the call on my life to touch lives for the Lord? Well, this passage set me straight! It’s God POSITIONING me for the desires of my heart.

The passage:  “Grow not weary in well doing, for in due season you SHALL reap IF you don’t faint.” Galatians 6:9 gives me new meaning today. Those so called insignificant tasks aren’t so small after all. They could be just the thing God wants to use to position us for success, for dreams and desires to be fulfilled, to complete a task for Him, and for so much more!! So today, I choose to stay the course, continue doing what I’m doing with JOY and in FAITH, to see the end be fulfilled.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God….

August 14, 2013

I believe many of us have heard this passage before, but I have a couple of things to share here. Previously I had talked about one element, which I’ll repeat here and then add the “new” insight the Lord showed me today.

Why do you think the scriptures says “hearing” twice? Shouldn’t it just say, “Faith comes by hearing the Word of God?” I realized it’s because there are two meanings. The first hearing is about “us.” It goes along with Revelation !2:11, “We overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony.” That first hearing is about OUR testimony! It’s what we tell others about what God has done for us. So we are “hearing” what people are saying about the goodness of God. And in doing that, we are defeating the enemy. That is why the Scriptures say to “go and tell what God has done for you.” It even talks about in Malachi that God has a book of remembrance, and any time you talk about Him, He writes it down! Power comes when we speak about the Lord. And the second “hearing” is about Him. His Word, His “blood of the Lamb” as in Revelation 12:11. So both words are powerful, and are very important in defeating the enemy in our lives.

So that is the first insight.

The second is this. The other day I was listening to “Bible reading” on the radio. And it was a very familiar verse, but in listening to the Word being read out loud, I caught something that I never “read” before. It’s interesting that the passage says, “Faith comes by “hearing” the Word of God. It doesn’t say by reading or seeing TV pastors. It comes by “hearing.” I “heard” something that I never “saw” in this passage. It was one little word that I missed that made the meaning of that scripture come to more light.  It’s found in 2 Corinthians 2:5-11. This is one of the passages I use in ministry when dealing with people who cause us grief.

But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

What I want to look at is verse 6…. I always read this passage as this person inflicts others… but what it is saying is that these individuals who cause US grief, has been inflicted BY others…  That word “by” I never caught before. So people who make us miserable are miserable themselves because they have been treated poorly probably most of their lives. And this is the result of all that abuse. They are now the “abuser” or the “offender” or the “irritant.” Because that’s what was pushed down their throats all their lives. I see this passage clearer now and WHY we are to respond the way the rest of that passage says… with forgiveness, with love, with compassion, with help, not with retaliation and anger and rejection. Because in doing this properly, we are not only helping that person but we are keeping ourselves from the SNARE of the devil in our own lives.

So what I learned from this is that even though I may READ my Bible, more deeper meaning and revelation comes when we HEAR the Word of God.

We Need To Do What God Tells Us…

August 12, 2013

Sometimes there are time we need to listen to what God is saying to us personally. Many times we get caught up in other people’s stuff, that we just go along with it (even though it may be good) yet it’s not what God wants of you. I was reading in 1 Samuel 14 about Jonathan, Saull’s son… and he did something quite amazing…

This chapter talks of Saul giving an order that no one was to eat any food until the evening, and if anyone did, they were to be severely dealt with. His son Jonathan didn’t hear this, and so he ate some honey (Of which I talked of this in the previous blog). Someone saw him do it and told Jonathan what his father commanded. This is is response starting in verse 25:

And all they of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon the ground. 26 And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath.

27 But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

28 Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food this day. And the people were faint.

29 Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

I read it this way in verse 29: My father’s request was ridiculous…. see how my eyes have enlightened because I tasted a little of this honey?

I realized that when Saul made that request, he did it out of fear. Sometimes when we are called to fast in an assembly, that is usually a good thing. But it’s not a good think if it’s done out of fear. So we have to know our own heart, we have to know God’s leading for us, because if we just follow along with the flow, we may be missing out on something God has for us…. in this case, Johnathan’s eyes were strengthened.

The other day I received an email asking me what they should do. Should they stay at the church they are in or should they go to another? And how do they know if it’s God’s will for them to leave that church? I believe these are good questions, so I responded with this question: Does the church you are going to support your decision to leave and encourage you or are they telling you if you leave you will go to hell, or loose your salvation, or whatever. Because if that is the case then the church was wrong in the first place, and perhaps a cult. We are to follow Jesus. And a church that has control over a person, isn’t following Jesus!

We need to make some hard choices. It’s not that we become rebellious… but know those who rule over you. Your leadership, your boss, and be sure you live as unto the Lord… not unto men.

Honey… good to the last drop!

August 12, 2013

Just recently I came across an article that was sent to me by a friend of mine that discusses the healing properties of honey and cinnamon. Here are some of those things:

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, put it on toast instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol and could potentially save one from heart attack. Also, even if you have already had an attack studies show you could be kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of cinnamon honey strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients can benefit by taking one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken daily even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain — and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder….who knew?

CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol-could be cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses, and it’s delicious too!

UPSET STOMACH: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also is said to clear stomach ulcers from its root.

GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals

INFLUENZA: A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ‘Ingredient’ which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

LONGEVITY: Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of boiling water to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms.

PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS:Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin Infections.

WEIGHT LOSS:Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER: Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month.

FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week.

BAD BREATH: People of South America, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water first thing in the morning so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

HEARING LOSS: Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing.

So as I was reading 1 Samuel, I thought this was appropriate to add here. Because the scriptures say that the Promised Land flowed with milk and honey…  But I never really knew the connection to good health. Well, if you have eye problems, according to the Bible, it brightens our eyes.

1 Samuel 14:27 ” ….he (Jonathan) put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.”

You be the judge of this, because it’s clear to me that honey is good for our health. But again, everything with moderation, because even in this example, he just ate a little bit!!

We May Be Doing It To Ourselves!

August 6, 2013

This blog is for those wanting “meat” not “dessert.”

In my previous blog “Can blessings turn on us” I talked about how the office of “king” or “president” has control over our lives. And I wanted to continue this message on that vein, because in the next chapter the Lord expanded on this. And I believe this is an eye opener for every believer to adhere to.

1 Samuel 12 – Samuel recounts to the Israelites all that God has done for them since they entered the promised land. Remember, only the children under 20 years of age entered, but all the others died in the wilderness. So now Israel is made of a new generation. So in Verses 8-12 Samuel began telling them how they rebelled against God in every thing… just like their forefather’s did. They forgot God! They served other gods. They rebelled. Yet, God always came through and delivered them.

But this last thing they did was want a king. So God gave them the king. Now here is where it gets interesting.

1 Samuel 12:12-15   “Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the Lord hath set a king over you.  If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:

But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers”.

This is truly an eye opener and caused me to see things differently. See, we have blamed our leadership for things of this world. The government, the president, etc., but I see here it’s not what they did or didn’t do… it’s what WE have done or not done. It says, “If you will fear the Lord and serve him, then you AND your King (president) will be equipped to follow God!! So, people, we are actually responsible for the rulership over us. I never saw it that way. Though we have a president, it’s up to the PEOPLE on how the president will lead. Wow…

Then it goes on to say, “If you rebel against the commandments of the Lord, then you will have problems.” Well, what do we have today? Problems, and they are great.

Okay, but here’s an even more amazing thing. Even in our choices. Even when we aren’t serving God as good as we can. Even when we ask for things that aren’t from a clean heart. Even when we doubt God. Even when we get mad and turn away from God for a time. Even when we disobey and go against the commandments to love and forgiven one another. Even though….   This passage following is timely for us today:

1 Samuel 12:20-22

And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;

21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

Even though… we sinned, or didn’t choose to follow God as He requires, we are told to “Don’t fear… even though….  and Don’t turn aside from following the Lord anyway, but serve him no matter how you have been. Because if you turn from Him, it will only lead to more destruction and you’ll end up serving things that cannot profit you and are vain. You and I know that we just go down hill from there. IT’s like, “Well, I’ve gone this far, I might as well keep going.” That is a wrong attitude. Just stop in the middle and say, “Lord I have sinned, and I’m going down the wrong path. I choose to believe you again, and serve only You, no matter what it looks like.” See, many times we think God did this to us when in fact we did it to ourselves and now blame God for it.

See, even though we have sinned, even though we have chosen wrongly, even though..,. Samuel says to keep following God as best as you can anyway. Keep trusting Him. Keep loving Him. Don’t turn from Him. Because when we do that, we are changing our future into something good.

22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the  Lord to make you his people.

23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

I believe this passage of scripture is a revelation for us today. To realize that our leadership is a fruit of the people, not the other way around, and that there is something we can do about it. Continue serving the Lord more fervently!!! Not to get mad at Him thinking He brought this on us. But to realize that we brought things upon ourselves and to stand as God stands with us THROUGH our choices (or the choices of our ancestors.) And in the end, we will ALL be blessed, we and our King (president, etc.).

But frankly, we haven’t gotten there yet. I believe it’s because many are in the BLAME mode. Blaming the president, government, etc., blaming God, and not taking responsibility that in the secret of their own home, they aren’t serving the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.

I know this is a ‘rebuke’ type of message, but it’s for me too. So I said today, “Lord, let everything I do, be about You.” So I will need to moment by moment, ask the Lord, “Is what I’m doing pleasing to you?” “Is what I’m thinking pleasing you?” “Is what I’m saying, glorifying Your name?” “or is what I’m thinking, saying or doing about me?”

This actually makes 2 Chronicles 7:14 more clear: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  (This includes the leadership!!!)

So, how do we heal our land, change the president, and live in harmony?

2 Corinthians 10:5 says to think about what we are thinking about so that we can choose better thoughts. To cast down any thought that is not what God would think and to wash our thoughts with the Word of God. We have to do this moment by moment people. That’s when we truly serve the Lord with ALL of our hearts, soul, mind and strength. AND… not to forget ALL the things He has already done for us!! So I ask you, do we have some repenting to do? Well, I do. And perhaps the rulership of our great country will change!!

Can a Blessing Turn on us?

August 4, 2013

These past few weeks I’ve been reading the Old Testament. I’m finding so many great treasures in there that have impacted my life greatly. And I hope to share another one here with you. It’s about the Arc of the Covenant.

In 1 Samuel chapters 5-7, the story is this: The Philistines and the Israelites went to battle and the Philistines defeated them killing  thousands and on top of that, stole the Arc of the Covenant! Then, when the Philistines took the arc into their land, thousands of people died because of it. Then the Philistines said, “Get rid of this thing, take it back to the Israelites.” So they did. The Israelites were so happy and celebrated the return, but only to lose thousands of people too! They died because of the arc.

Now, here’s how I began thinking this through. The thing that was to be a blessing was no longer a blessing, but actually became a curse! Why? The Lord made it very clear to me. Because the answer came in chapter 7. The Prophet Samuel told them that IF they stop worshipping other gods and turn back to the Lord with all their heart, then God will deliver them from the Philistines.

So, it seems the people were serving the gods of that land and not serving God like they were supposed to. Probably had been doing it for some time, but God had to do something to get them back on track. He allowed the children of Israel to die for the same reasons the Philistines died…  because of their heart condition. They chose to walk in unbelief towards God, they wanted to serve their own lusts, just like the Philistines. This reminds me of a scripture: God rains on the just and on the unjust and He is no respecter of person.”

It’s all to do with our heart condition. Because something that we get that is a blessing, if we don’t have a right heart towards it can turn into a curse. It could control us. It could become an idol. It could need constant repairs. I say this because that is what happened to me. While reading this segment of scripture, the Lord used it to show me my heart. I had bought a NICE used car. It was truly a blessing from God. What we paid for it and how easy it was to find what we wanted. But, my heart got the better of me, which became apparent after reading this story, that it got the better of me. We began treating it like gold. We began putting too much importance on it. My heart was not right about it. So then the expenses came to fix the car. It had been in the shop 4 times in 3 months! And when the Lord showed me this revelation, I repented. I confessed everything I saw in my heart that was of pride. That very same day, the curse was restored to a blessing again. To make a long story short, the repairs were done free of charge! Now that is God!!! And on top of it, they found a screw in the back right tire and fixed it as well.

I knew something changed in my heart and I knew things were going to turn around, and so they did.

So I ask you, what blessing has turned on you? Something that you said, “But God, I thought this was from you?” It probably was, but where is your heart about i?

But I want it anyway!

August 4, 2013

I was reading in the book of 1 Samuel today, chapters 8-11 or thereabouts, where the people cried for a king. The Lord heard their cry and responded through Samuel saying to tell the people this is what will happen if you get a king:

1) He will appoint captains over you and rule you

2) He will Take 10% of your stuff, land, possessions of all kinds

3) He will TAKE your children to serve him in a variety of ways

4) And that whey they cry to the Lord because of the king’s ways, He will not hear them!

There are two insights out of this read:

First:  What I realized is that there are several “TAKES” that he will do to them, and when they find themselves unhappy with what is going on, they will cry to the Lord and He won’t hear them. Samuel made it very clear to them what the consequences were. He gave them all the facts! But they responded, “We don’t care, we want a king to fight our battles for us!” (Does that sound familiar?) They had actually rejected GOD as their king, and so the Lord doesn’t go against His own word and so whatever they asked for they got because scriptures say, “Ask and it shall be given.”

And you know the rest of the story up until even now. We have an office of president. He has TAKEN our children and sent them to war. He TAKES a percentage of our income to pay for HIS storehouse/workers/etc…  He TAKES our freedom. But I saw something here too. We are living the choices of our ancestors, but doesn’t mean we can’t change it once we realize what is going on. In our hearts by making GOD our KING, our lives will put right. The Bible says to obey the law of the land if it doesn’t go against GOD’s laws. That’s where WE have to live today… We may still have to live by some earthly rules, but with God as our king in our hearts.

Secondly, is there anything that you desperately want and won’t stop until you get it? Has there been warning signs about it? Has God told you some things about your choice? See, God always ALWAYS prompts us BEFORE we make any choice that could end up not so good. But again, do we listen? I remember every choice I make that caused me hardship, when thinking of that choice, I do recall God warning me BEFORE I made the choice. I am still learning to HEAR His voice BEFORE I blunder… but even in my blunder He is there and will lead me THROUGH it. Because He does work all things out for good in the end for those who are His. And I like this quote: “Everything will work out in the end, and if it’s not worked out yet, it’s not the end.”

We may have some repenting to do. Is there something that you want so badly you are willing to do anything for it? I want to give you a warning here. If it becomes too important than it’s not important at all and some repenting may be required. Repenting for putting it before others, God, etc. Everything on this planet is to be 3rd or 4th in our priorities. God is first, and foremost. If we close our ears and eyes to God, then we are setting ourselves up for blunder.

I recall many times I would just JUMP into something without all the facts, consequences or anything. And I’ve had to pay dearly for those choices. But even when things got hard, God was always there because He loves me even when I make my bed in hell.

So I encourage you today to check the motive of what you desire and ask the Lord to help you hear Him before you make a decision. And after you make the decision, and it doesn’t turn out good, pray. We have something different than the Israelites… we have grace! So even though we choose wrongly, God STILL hears us… And He will help us because Jesus made it possible!!! Praise the Lord.
