What About All That Blood in the Old Testament?

Have you ever wondered why the Old Testament is in the Bible with all that blood sacrifice? There was a LOT of blood!

My friend and I were talking and said, “Where did all that blood go?” So much of it. Over and over. And you have to wonder.

Well, the Lord told me this morning the reason. He wanted us to see HOW MUCH BLOOD was spilled to make a person clean! It took a lot!! And had to be spilled EVERY YEAR! Yet, in ONE life,Jesus, all that blood spilling was over!

Jesus fulfilled the need to sacrifice burnt offerings. He became the spotless Lamb to offer up forever! For He did it once and for all! And as Jesus said in His own words, “I did not come to do away with the law, I came to fulfill.” He fulfilled the NEED of blood sacrifice. Everything else remains. We still need to live by the 10 commandments. As a matter of fact, it is referenced in the New Testament to obey! It says that by LOVING ONE ANOTHER you fulfill ALL the law and what the prophets taught.

So when you read the O.T. it’s really a picture of the Love of God through Jesus Christ. As we embark on our week let’s be thankful that Jesus paid it all.. and now to show our love and appreciation, live for Him.
